The Council of the European Union published the notes of their 3067^th meeting today containing details of the status of EU Savings Directive 2. In the document on page 9 it is sated that the Presidency intends to take the Directive forward and progress to the Council’s High Level Working Group to come to a decision as soon as possible.

What is clear is that resistance from Austria and Luxembourg is still stifling its progress.

Other matters discussed in the document set out the outcome of the HLWP’s view on The Crown Dependencies Zero-Ten tax systems and the intention to introduce anti-fraud and tax information exchange agreements with Andorra, San Marino and Monaco.
